The CARMEN consortium is composed by 7 partners (5 beneficiaries and 2 members), who occupy different places in the whole CRM service value chain.
Four cities, Sheffield (UK), Saarbrücken (DE), Prato (IT) and the Black Country (UK), will provide the test beds to pilot the CRM service (platform + services). Sheffield, in the light of the remarkable effort their country is making in the CRM area, will play the role of Coordinating Contractor.
Two technical partners, Ancitel (an Italian company) and DFKI (German Centre for Artificial Intelligence), will provide the architecture and the CRM modules to support the CRM services, and the technical support to the cities. ANCITEL will also make the CRM platform available in ASP mode, to the cities who select this alternative. The Italian Ministry of Interior will provide support, as an advisor, for the Registration & Authorisation module, which is part of the Italian electronic identity card.
An engineering company, LABS, will ensure the quality control and the overall management of the project.
One association, eForum (subcontractor), will help Sheffield in leading the dissemination of the project, spreading the results of validation around the European Union.
Two organisations, the Italian Ancitel and the Czech BMI (subcontractor), besides being in charge of carrying out the deployment in their countries, will analyse the feasibility of introducing the CRM platform and the CRM service in other European countries, thus acting as “enabling partners”; they will do this thanks to their membership in the Elanet network.
The consortium was designed in order to ensure that the complete range of skills, both technical and practical (including the three extra partners for aiding with the vital take-up and dissemination function) are present to ensure success.
